How old are your kids? With the new superintendent / CP Academy / charters / etc. - lots could change in PG schools in the next 10 years.

Not that I can tell. Similar houses, similar income, similar racial make-up. Our cars are older, though.

We have lived near SWS in NE for almost ten years, and have had no problems with crime. If you asked me about the neighborhood, I would say it is among the safest, friendliest places I have lived in DC.
Friends down the street, however, have had their home broken into multiple times, car broken into multiple times, bikes stolen out of the yard, car stolen, and one of them has been mugged. Just terrible, terrible luck. They are getting ready to move, and I don't blame them one bit. People can have such different experiences, even when they live in the same block. Good luck, OP.

I live on Capitol Hill, not in one of those places, and really--shut up. What an obnoxious attitude. People do live in those areas, all sorts of people. And they should be blamed when they object to crimes on their streets?

Let me guess--you bought a house next to Potomac Gardens? Or at 16th & D next to the old open air PCP market?
There are a lot of wonderful places in Capitol Hill. There are also blocks that have always had issues. I don't understand why people don't do their homework before they buy.

OP, just want to say that I'm sorry. Yes, things have been a bit squirrelly in Capitol Hill lately (depending on what part you live in) and it can be tough to deal with. Hope you find a neighborhood that works better for you.
