Including my mother, there were 6 children in her family, who were usually always there, plus all of their kids (my cousins). Then there were my grandparents' siblings, etc. It was awesome.
My parents weren't together and my dad lived in New England, so there were a couple of Christmases that I flew there to spend the holiday with his family.
I forgot to answer the second question. My husband and I (no kids) alternate traveling and staying home. We have 4 sets of parents to visit, only one of which lives locally, so it takes us a few years to "make the rounds" one time.
