Or you could just try and be spontaneous and get her something that is not linked to giving for a special event. Years ago we did away with gifts for the "special occasion". Not intended to be an anti-consumer statement or any kind of statement. But whatever works for you ........
I also give her flowers for no special event or reason. Earlier this year I sent flowers to her office. Her colleagues asked her what I had done wrong to warrant sending her flowers! She said that it was just done spontaneously ........ they were somewhat taken aback.
DW here. I think that sort of thing is just showy BS. Send them to the house, or bring them to me. (Which is what DH generally does). I don't need to show off to random colleagu es.
