You have described the Barnesville school, which we attend and love, if you can handle the drive. The drive is against rush hour and actually very pleasant, we've found.

We love Grace Episcopal in Kensington. Nice school. One class per grade. Teachers are very involved and the headmaster greets everyone personally every day.

The Harbor School in Bethesda is really all you are asking for and about 20K. Check it out. Warm and nurturing.

A lot of PDS students go to Holton and Landon for 3rd. Students also go to Norwood, Bullis, Nysmith, St. Pats, GDS, Sidwell and public. So pretty much all over.

Thank you. We are looking hard at Stone rRidge, though maybe as an option after a few years of our local parish school ( little flower).
You should definitely look at Woods Academy. Significantly smaller class sizes than Wood Acres and Little Flower (these were also our comparison schools). Has been an incredible experience for our child so far.

Mater Amoris Montessori in Ashton is very affordable. My child went there for 8 years and then went to a fancy pants elite school here.

Look at Concord Hill. Lovely school. Oneness might be in that price range, but I don't know anything about it. Maybe Woods Academy? Harbor? If you're in a good MoCo district, don't really see the added value of a parochial, unless you want your child in a Catholic environment.

Check out WWS at the Bazaar this weekend (and be sure to look at the room where the older kids' workbooks are displayed so you'll understand where the academics go in the older grades). Then take a tour and ask as many questions as you need.
I almost didn't tour and only reluctantly did so at the last minute so I wouldn't question my decision process later. The private education consultant who I happened to tour with (so I wasn't a client) said to me "a child can get a fabulous education here if the parent has the courage to send them to WWS."
Thanks for this. I have been on the fence re Waldorf, but a lot about it appeals to me.
