Our public school auctions off front row seats at our PK graduation every year. Maybe it's because it is only 2 seats and part of the annual fundraiser. Never thought it was a big deal since the event is sort of ridiculous anyway and the auditorium isn't that big.

Ours did this. I bid, but was outbid. We got there early enough to get second row anyway. I've never heard of anyone complaining about it.

We have this at our school. It's a great fundraiser and it's only for 6 of the many front row seats. So if you get there early enough, you can get a seat in the front. Or, if you want guaranteed first row seats, you can be one the parents who volunteers to set up the seats the night before and leave something on your seat marking your place.

I don't see any problem with this. Schools need money, and this is a creative way to get it. There are plenty of other good seats that aren't in the first row, and the first-come-first-served system benefits people without jobs/commutes, which isn't necessarily fair either.

OP again. Yeah, I agree about kindergarten graduation too. My kid's school doesn't do it either.

Crappy. Less crappy if it is a raffle.

I have no problem with it. The other seats across and around it are all open for the folks who show up early and now the school has some extra money for whatever project they are fundraising for. It's not like they are charging admission so you can't go if you can't pay for it.

Just stick with public schools. It will be fine. Other schools need to raise money all the time.
