I am 5'8" and my adult weight has ranged from 160 to 200. Over that 40 pounds, I have ranged from a size 10 to a 14.

When I was in HS, I starved myself to 136 and I was a size 8 then.

I gain weight pretty proportionately everywhere and it really takes 20 lbs for me to move a pants / jeans size.

I think you also need to factor in the style of clothing that you'd wear at a lower weight. Body-skimming clothes, different cuts, something that comes in at the waist or is belted...these all are present when I'm in my happy range. Now, I wear things that are a larger size, but that are also looser fitting and of stretchy material.

The frump monster tackled me nearly two years ago. I have a beautiful wardrobe just waiting the loss of 40lbs, few hundred hours on the exercise bike, and a season of Pilates classes.

I think I just made my New Year's Resolution.

5'8". Went from ~200lbs and a 14/16 to 160 now and a 10. I've dropped at least a cup size but have yet to replace bras.

It depends on how tall you are. I'm very petite so losing 5-6lb would drop me a dress size.

I dropped 30 pounds and went from an 18 to a 12. So pretty much 10 pounds a size. It took me a little bit longer to get down to a size 10 because I had a small waist but bigger hips and had to work on toning vs losing weight. Boobs didn't change at all. Have been a size F since I was about 21.

I lost 30 and when from an 8/10 to a solid 4. I bra band went down from a 36 to a 34 and I'm still trying to figure out the cup.

People lose weight to be more attractive and to be healthier. Where did I say anything about attracting men. Please read more carefully.

I think it depends entirely on how your body carries weight/ is shaped. Even more than height perhaps.

I'm an apple so for me, its more than 10 pounds for a size up or down for sure, but my legs, hips, bum never ever change size with weight gains or losses- not much at all in my arms either. If you have a body that's more proportionate it will be easier to predict, and probably more like to follow averages.

You can be beautiful in a big size, and you can be ugly in a small size.

When I lost 40 lbs. I only dropped from a 12 to a 10. I am 5'4" but I have enormous hips. I could lose 80 lbs and my hips would make it necessary to wear a 10. In fact the smallest size I have been in my adult life was a 8, and I weighed 125 lbs.

I lost a size for every 10 lbs at first (190 to 180, 180 to 170, etc.) until I hit 150. I did not drop a size btwn 150 and 140, although I look better in my clothes at 140.

My bra band size went from a 38 to 32, but my cup size *increased*. I guess I didn't lose that much volume in the front. Or I was in the wrong size all the time before I got fitted. Either is possible!

I also lost half a size in my foot -- 7.5 to 7.

Oh, and I'm 5'5.

I'm 5'4. At my heaviest was 185 and was a 34c and size 12/14. I lost about 60 pounds. When I was in the 140 range I wore a 6 and was 34b

Im 5'7 and for me 7lb= 1 size
Lost 20lb postpartum and went from 8 to 2.
