We make a wreath for the front door out of the bottom branches from the Christmas tree. We usually have to snip off a couple of branches to get it into the stand, so we just use those, add some ribbon and beads (which we save year to year), and voila! Fresh wreath, for no more than the cost of the Christmas tree that we would buy anyway.

I like my faux one for the front door because it is lighted and is on a timer. I don't think they are tacky.

I got a nice one at home goods and sprayed it with pumpkin air freshen every other day or so... I found essential oil cinnamon but it fell out of my shopping cart

I have a fake decorated one I put outside on the porch gate. Looks good! I bought it at Target.

I hang real ones on the front doors and fake ones on the windows of the house (outdoor) and also on the French doors in the kitchen (hung inside)

Us too. Fake on the four windows that aren't street level and real on the front door and two front porch windows. We'll use the same kind of bows on the two front porch windows as on the fake wreaths and do them about the same size, so it's not totally obvious that they're different. Front door wreath is larger and has more decorations, so clearly different from the other six. I don't see the need to pay more for nice real wreaths on the parts of the house where you can't see them up close or smell them.
