We have a 2014 Outback. Our oldest (and very tall boy) rear-faced in a Clek Foonf until just before his 5th birthday (because of carsickness when we tried to forward face). We now have two Foonfs, one forward facing with 5 year-old and one rear facing with 3 year old boy and an infant bucket seat in the back. The kids do have to fold up their legs rear facing, but they have never complained.

Just got a new 2018 outback. Use a rear-facing Graco 4ever seat for DD, who is about to turn three and is 85th percentile for height. Both she and the carseat fit just fine.

Love, love, love our 2014 Outback. We got it at Stohlman.

We have the Diono Rainier. It's great, but you NEED the angle adjuster ($6 on Amazon) in order to push the passenger seat back.

We have used both a rear facing Britax Boulevard and Chicco NextFit in our Outback. 75th percentile in height child was rear facing until age 3. They just cross their legs, she never complained about comfort. If she had, we would have turned her around earlier.

Echoing others--current model Outbacks are huge. We test drove and it felt like an SUV so we went with an Impreza (which is also far bigger than the same car a couple of iterations ago). We easily put a rear-facing Britax seat in the Impreza and friends with an Outback can do three across easily. (It is a little more of a puzzle with the Impreza, but also possible.)

We have 2 RF seats with no issues, a Peg Perego and a Britax Boulevard Clicktight.

I used this as a guide because my tall husband was barely fitting in our VW Golf with the Britax.

We have 2 kids and less than a year into our 2nd kid I wish I had a 3 row car instead of my Outback.

New poster. We have a 2010 subaru outback. Graco forever rear-facing for a 30lb 2 year old. It works great. He doesn't fuss that much and we're going to continue rear facing for the foreseeable future

We have a Clek Fllo. Plenty of room.

We have a Subaru Outback (2017) and purchased a safety 1st elite EX 100 air + 3-in-1 car seat. It does not fit well at all. Do any of you have suggestions for a rear facing car seat that fits well in the Outback?

Fitzgerald Service department is AWFUL. Horrendous. I will never ever ever go to them again. They failed to plug in my radiator fan, then wouldn't reimburse me for the tow & repair when my car overheated in the middle of Dupont Circle.

Our 2011 Outback has a Britax Chaporone and a Britax Advocate in the back (a monster convertible seat if there ever was one), both are perfect fits and the driver and passengers don't have any issues with their seats - they are reclined as far back as needed.

Our dealer told us that they added 5" of extra legroom to the back seating on the Subarus at some point. It may have started in the 2010 models but definitely the 11's and forward have 'em.

Great car btw. We just got one of those roof cargo holders - I know you didn't ask about that - but that in addition to the legroom makes the car for me. With kids, strollers, pack n plays, luggage, and everything under the sun, that car has a great capacity.

This model started in either 2010 or 2011 and they have huge back seats. You'll be fine.
