My husband has had two psychiatrists say the same thing: smoking "some" weed here and tehre not a big deal. VERY IRRESPONSIBLE FOR THEM TO DO THIS WITHOUT MAKING CLEAR what the difference between "some" and "you cant do some because you are an addict" is.
DH also had a therapist completely miss his porn addiction. I sent him to our trusted counselor for this problem and she told him to "not be so hard on himself". I brought this up to DH who has finally admitted to the addiction and he says he managed to hide the problem forom the therapist. Problem is, her answer was in response to his question"WHY DO I KEEP DOING THIS"?
She missed the f;ing ball. I am pretty mad.
Anyway, just want to corroborate to OP that yes psychs are changing their view on pot, but they do so sometimes without really understanding the big picture. And it deos not help when they arent given the complete picture.
My DH also has a weed addiction. ONly NOW is he beginning to see it as such. Have no advice for how to make someone see something they are in denial about. Its what denial is. They dont WANT to see it so they CANT see it. IT SUCKS. I am so sorry. You are not alone. I will try to think of what happened before DH saw the light- besides me saying I would have to leave due to his anger outbursts. DH also has anxiety, depression. Getting treatment for depression has helped.
