If I were to get a poodle mix, I would probably opt for the golden doodle - those guys are hilarious, clownish, fun. Love them!

I have heard stories about cockapoos/cocker spaniels being tricky around kids. Not sure if that's true or not.

Forgot to mention - when the owners left it alone in the house, it would bark and basically go bat sh*t crazy. Again, maybe it was just that one dog. I'm sure that there are horror stories out there about any breed.

Thank you!

That isn't high. That's actually low. I think 1500-2500 is more standard now days from great breeders.

Cockapoo is NOT a breed. It's a mutt. Plain and simple. No reputable poodle breeder also has cockapoos.

If a breeder has more than one litter on the ground, they're most likely a puppy mill or less than reputable. Go elsewhere.

We had a standard poodle many years ago, then switched to standard schnauzers. Our beloved poodle unfortunately had Addison's disease followed by thyroid issues and skin issues. He died at age 3. He was a lovely dog. Not at all aggressive. Please be sure to research autoimmune disorders in poodles -- esp. addison's. Also make sure the breeder can provide certification about the parent's hops -- OFA Good or Excellent is preferred.
