50 years old married man
Unemployed - used to make $90k
Successful in some parts of my life but lousy at making moneyDo you consider yourself successful?
My successes are mostly due to my parents/siblings. Lack of success due to bad career choices, a couple bouts of bad luck and lack of ambition.
I'm OK with my life. Would like to be more satisfied but there are few people with who I would switch places.
Lack of financial security is my biggest single problem in having satisfaction in my life.

$90k. Recently left a job paying $150k for work-life balance and industry switch to something more meaningful. Also have a net worth of nearly $6mil. (this all seems relevant to the question).
Do you consider yourself successful? (based on your own definition of successful)
Moderately. I could be more successful professionally but am not willing to sacrifice the time/energy to do so at this point.
What do you think contributed to your success or your lack thereof? (example- an ivy education, good parents, etc? )
Ivy education, supportive parents, born into (not extreme but comfortable) privilege.
Are you satisfied with your life?
Yes
Is your level of satisfaction connected to how much money you have?
Yes, but that's not connected to my income (net worth instead). It makes life and marriage significantly easier when long-term financial concerns aren't an issue.

Hard work - I grew up poor, paid my way through college and grad school working 2-3 jobs at a time
Are you satisfied with your life? I am. My job is comfortable with reasonable hours and interesting projects, I have a small child and a wonderful husband
Only partly. Our incomes allow me to worry less, but I'd still like to have less debt (working on that part).

To put it in perspective, I'm the 34 at $190k. Being at $265 pls bonus and stock - which puts you in the $400k range I imagine, would be pretty fantastic in my view.
