I have read that the nutritional difference is not that great - it is not really that much better for you - and since it takes that much worse to me, I just eat the better one, and less often (as others have said).

You know, there is something to be said for eating to be satisfied and happy (rather than checking off the "whole wheat box"). You often eat less. And you're happier.

I can usually spot people who strictly eat whole grains...

I hate anything labeled, whole wheat because it tastes like cardboard.

Instead, make your own mixture of grains and sprinkle them in white rice, pasta, white bread.

For example, we buy individual packages of wheat bran, oat bran, wheat germs, flax seeds, etc and create a dry mixture and store it in rubbermade bowl in the fridge. You will have to experiment to see what blends you like. For example, I find wheat germs to be over powering. So, we put one part germs to 4 parts wheat bran. Sprinkle them in rice, sandwiches, pasta, pancake batter, anything. This way, you get the best of both worlds.

I really like it. It is more satisfying to me than regular pasta. I've been using it exclusively for the last 5+ years though, so maybe I'm just accustomed to it. I like Trader Joe's brand.

don't really love it either! I found the quinoa pasta a lot more tolerable though. For WW pasta I will eat it at lunchtime more with DD to try ad "role model" lol but I secretly want the good stuff! Otherwise I really like whole grains but the WW pasta just tastes off to me.

My supermarket has stopped carrying Barilla.

I do like and use ww pasta, but not all the time. You have to experiment with brands, and I find it doesn't work with all types of sauces.

I like the whole wheat refrigerated cheese tortelli/ravioli. And I do ww pasta shells or rotini in a baked mac n cheese. But trying your favorite delicate cream sauce meant to go with an angel hair pasta isn't going to work well with a heavy ww noodle.

We really like the protein plus pasta.

But Barilla contains 100% of your daily recommend allowance of bigot.

+1 it is the only kind I but now (except occasionally fresh, refrigerated ravioli), so my kids don't know any better. I'm used to it.

Hate it, so I've just cut down significantly on the amount of pasta I eat.

I eat it but it's not quite the same. Best brands are Bionature and Barilla, although Barilla isn't 100% whole wheat.
