I definitely wouldn't say "the majority." At Haycock, only 57% of the AAP 6th graders received pass advanced on the 7th grade math SOL, and of those, there were more who didn't qualify on the IAAT. We were really surprised how few of the kids dc knew from ES are taking Algebra.

He did 4th grade place values last year (in second grade) and now they did the same thing in AAP 3rd grade. Last year they did addition to one million; now they are working on the same stuff. Not sure when we will see the difference...I am not complaining here. It is okay to have repetition and review and a solid foundation is great. I am just curious when the acceleration will begin
