My ex is one of those men who divorced and sees his kid only for a couple hours on a weekend. Did not want custody or scheduled visitation. He does not have the temperament to spend longer time. He does not call her or have any contact with her during the week bc he does not initiate it. Perhaps he will find her more interesting when she is older. This is all his choice. Sounds like op's guy is similar. Huge red flag, a character issue in my book.

Agree with this. I would never be with a man who didn't see their child frequently and make that child a centerpiece of his life.

Just the fact that you felt the need to write this post tells you that you have instinctive concerns. Trust those instincts, watch carefully, and don't second guess your "gut" just in the interest of being in a relationship.
