What the heck is that hanging in the master kitchen (for lack of a better term) -- a mirror?? Was someone planning on teaching cooking classes there?

There are some very cool things about this house but I wish they could have figured a way to not have those huge ducts running everywhere....

So it's a bunch of "studio" apartments? I was wondering why there were so many living spaces with beds in them.

Spike from Top Chef lives in one of the units with the step-up kitchens . . . I wish my remembering largely inconsequential details from Bravo were a marketable skill . . . but I'll settle for someone else admitting to remembering too.

And, as my husband noted yesterday, a $7 million sale across the street from us will really help our comps.

Thanks for the info. Fascinating. (Though I wouldn't describe 2000 as "many years ago"!)

Out of interest, a gay couple? Or a straight couple?

Gay couple. And I consider any time before I lived in DC as "many years ago."

Kind of wondering who owns it...

I don't like those weird panels behind the black round dining table, but some of it is cool.

The wallpapered chalkboards cracked me up.

Why can't they do something like this with the Franklin School on 13 & K? Such a beautiful building, just sitting empty

It's the penthouse plus several rental units. The $7.25 million gets you the whole shebang.

Most of it is too ornate and over-designed for my taste.
