We use Breeze too, now with our second set of cats (two old cats died within the last year, now have two youngsters under a year old using it).

It really is great, though we have one kitten still getting his GI tract straightened out, and he poops a LOT. And both cats are pretty fastidious, so the poop has to come out pretty quickly after it arrives. But having the urine drip through to the pad below is just ingenious.

The year-old cat has pooped outside the box a couple times lately, but I think that was because the Feliway diffuser we have right by the litter box had run out. I replaced it, and he went right back to the box.

Granted, DH is the one who really handles all the litter box duties, but all in all it's such a much more pleasant experience than regular litter.

I am intrigued by the toilet idea because I'm just so grossed out by having the cat walk around the house after the feet have been in the litter box. Seems like they must be tracking some of that in the house.

Glad you found this helpful. I don't otherwise shop there so figuring that out changed my life. There's a minimum purchase for free shipping but I just buy cat food (again a very good price) or groceries to hit the minimum.

^^ there are kits to teach your kitten how to do this. It's very simple - a tray with many ovals in it. You put the litter in the center and place the unit between the toilet seat lid and the rip. Every few days you punch out the next larger oval but have the tracings of litter around the exterior of the next ring. I bought one. The small print says: "Not suitable for cats over 10 pounds". whoops. My kitten was already 11 pounds by then. To the donate pile.

We toyed with the idea because our cats normally perch on the edge of the litter box and hang their butts back into it anyway (I've never seen any other cats do this but it's pretty funny), so it seemed like they would understand the position. I'm a big fan of the Breeze litter box, though (alas) my cats are less convinced. Breeze has big, nonabsorbent litter pellets that sit on top of a slotted tray. Under the slotted tray is a removable shelf/tray that holds an absorbent pad. Urine drops through to the pad and solids are scooped.

The litter tracked less than anything else I've ever used.
The pellets and pads are a little pricey, but not too bad.

I gave one to my parents, whose cat uses it. My mother, who is...thrifty, said she'd pay pretty much any amount for this litter.

Walmart's store brand cat litter is very good and no perfumey smell. It's very cheap and they ship it! No more lugging 40lb boxes of litter. The ups man brings it to my door.

OP here. I purchased the Blue Buffalo litter at Petco. It's pretty amazing. It doesn't clump urine perfectly, (or rather, it must fully dry to completely clump) but this and the price are my only minor criticisms. It smells nice and woodsy/earthy and it doesn't stick to the walls/bottom of the box. It's very lightweight and the pieces are large enough that it sifts beautifully and leaves more litter in the box versus clay. It controls odor well and my cats had no hesitation using it. Thanks for the tip, Jeff!

A lot of you hate the A&H, but the A&H multicat is literally the only litter our cats will use. Not too strongly scented, and it clumps hard, so it's easy to scoop.

1:03 back - I purchased two types of the new "sifting" liners at PetSmart yesterday. One is made by Imperial Cat and is called Neat 'n Tidy litter sifting liners. The other is made by Great Choice and is called simply "Sifting Can pan liners". You can also get at least one of these brands on amazon.com or PetCo's or PetSmart's sites. It's a very simple premise (wish I had thought of it) and allows us to use less litter. I still scoop daily. But when there is just too much urine build-up, you just grab the four corners of the top plastic liner and let all the clean sand sift through, and then put a fresh layer of litter in.

Well, the picture didn't come through but go to amazon.com, pets, liners, and you will see some called "sifter liners" the one described below goes by the name "Neat and Tidy". Several other manufacturers have caught on and are making their own. I did try the one that uses a metallic grate to catch the clumps and poos. Didn't like that at all and probably even less environmentally friendly than the sheets of plsatic.
