I'm 32. If I were single, the oldest I would go would be 45. For my single girlfriends my age, the oldest they date seems to be 40 (and they prefer mid 30s). I have a gorgeous 36 year old colleague who only dates men in their 50s. She admits she has issues and the men are always well off.

OP here. I'm actually a woman in my early 30s and have an ex that is 50 who is very similar to what this PP described above except he makes a good salary even by dcum standards. I broke things off because of the age difference too. I also have a Match profile and get lots of messages from men in their 50s, so I was wondering if it was more common than I thought.


Different Pp here. Naah they're just trying their luck. I have a profile somewhere too and you wouldn't believe how many messages I get from much older men. Many are quite delusional.

If you knew him since you were 19 and had feelings for him, then why did you marry someone else?

41 year old divorced guy here - and date women from 32-47. But I seem to get a lot messages from women 49+ (like another PP, I have a profile on match.com too).

the 20-somethings are lots of fun to look at for sure (especially in yoga pants) but I can't deal with the immaturity - need a woman who is fit, mature and confident and who has actually lived and done something in her life.

I'm a PP so I'm totally sockpuppeting but I had to add to my previous post. Why do you think a woman in her 30s (or younger) would be romantically interested in a 65 year old, especially a regular 65 yr old? I mean I'm sure there are exceptions but it would be very rare. Hell, my dad's only 56!


PP you're quoting here. You know why I picked that cut off (not average, but hard stop cut off)? Because my 39 year old sister, never married sister got married to a 63 yr old widower a few years ago. Obv. no kids. Big careers, world travelers, very happy and -- IMHO -- well matched.
