And it depends on the kid's birthday too. I mean, skipped a grade but birthday is October, well, that's not such a big deal. But for me, it meant I was driving almost a year later than everyone else (in a very car-reliant area), and also I was a 15 year old girl in a class with 17 year old boys. Thank God I was a total nerd, because i was intimidated by them rather than attracted, but it's a strange scene. And also, being 12 in high school (again, with much older kids there too), you just aren't as "worldly".
For girls, height isn't such a big thing, but my brother also skipped and it was very tough for him until he hit his growth spurt. Got picked-on by bullies for a good year.
