I am the problem in our relationship. Grew up in a house with 5 boys so I liked what they liked. DH can't keep up with my sports.

Football season is awesome in our house because we are both huge football fans. Saturdays are planned around college games. We host a lot of parties and get togethers during the football season which is fun for us. We're not as big into the NFL but will still watch the games. We like to laugh at the Redskins together.

Seriously, sports are one of our shared "hobbies" so I cannot relate. I am right there on the couch into the game with my DH.

A few years ago, I was watching football, and I started hearing voices. I tried to block out the voices. They were telling me to do things I did not want to.....As I tuned them out, they became louder and louder. Then she stepped in front of the TV, and I agreed to take out the trash

Yikes, that is not my husband at all. You watch to much TV if that is what you think of people who like sports.

Both my husband and I played competitive sports and have that in common, we both enjoy watching games together. I like watching him play games and do activities, which I think comes from his athletic background. Sundays he actually misses most of football because he is in a baseball league.

I'm sure men who don't like sports eat nachos. But I don't have the data on that.

Yes, I can't tear my wife away the television set for hours. I've become a total football widower. Now I'm going to have to hear about the Manning Bowl for the next week. Sorry, I have to go she needs some more beer and wings.

I personally do not watch nor care about football, but from raising boys and remembering how my own Father was, it seems this is just something that men do. Boys will be boys.

Perhaps use that time to go out shopping or see a chick flick.

Not being into sports at all is a red flag to me when it comes to men. DH has a PhD, is European, and still watches NFL. Not obsessively (doesn't play fantasy) but with passion. I follow superficially so that he can talk to me about it, which he likes.

I have 2 boys so yes I join them now. Both boys have fantasy football teams and they spend hours with dad setting up teams, talking about trades, etc.

We also watch basketball, soccer (which airs at 7am some days), lacrosse, etc.

We both count down the weeks still SEC football starts. We have parties every Saturday. We LOVE college football! The only time it "aversely affects our relationship" is the week our teams play each other.

Also will add ... He misses more of "his" team to watch our sons play. Will be gone for 3 hours today with one of our sons.
