I'm with you there! I can remember kids who sat around me in elementary school and the plots of many TV shows from when I was a kid but I can't remember when my son has gym or library.

In the show it was never really addressed as to whether Carol was a widow or divorced. Mike was definitely a widower-- there was a scene in the pilot that confirmed that.

Growing up, we had a full-time housekeeper. She didn't live with us but came in everyday, 9-6, 3 kids, big house, was paid $200. It was the seventies...
