NO! I had an uneventful pregnancy and had a baby born at 35 weeks. My DH came home from a trip the day before. For baby #2, he stopped traveling at 32 weeks. (Granted, I was at a higher risk of a pre-term baby since #1 was early).

Nope! I had an uneventful pregnancy until my water broke and my baby came suddenly at 33 weeks.

I can't even imagine how swollen my legs would be by the end of that flight.

Stay home.

Fuck no, and my husband wouldn't go either.

Oh hell no. For a bar mitzvah? Please.

I flew at 33 weeks, but it was an hour flight. No way I would do a transatlantic flight without a very, VERY compelling reason. A nephew's bar mitzvah does not fall into that category.

Lol. It's not the end of the world either if OP and DH miss a bar mitzvah of a relative in Europe.

Lmao!!! Agree with pp. Let's keep perspective.
Your baby's pending birth or some other kid's bar mitzvah.
Which one has priority? Jeopardy music playing.

I would not go. I flew across country when I was about 26 weeks, had complications (not from the flight), and ended up in the hospital. My doctor did not want me getting on a flight to come home after I was discharged from the hospital. I did (b/c I had to), but stayed close to home after that. It's just not worth the risk, especially for the event you're talking about.

OP DO NOT go. You could get a blood clot and die of a massive pulmonary embolism. Also, 33 weeks is a funny time for the baby. Preterm labor at that GA is not a good idea on an airplane. They can take care of you in London, but not on the plane.

No, unless it was an emergency, and the famly event you described is not. plus airlines usually do not let you fly late in the pregnancy (I am not sure about the cut off date). I got married in Europe and my DH's brother, who was the best man, came alone, since his wife was 34 weeks pregnant and did not want to travel. she is an OB-Gyn. nobody had enything to say about that, we all understood. her DH left on WEdnesdasy and came back on Sunday.

i might have considered it prior to kids but i went into labor three weeks early with my first so now i would never. i dont think its unreasonable if you to want your husband to stay in us either.

I would honestly let DH go, unless you're having issues in your pregnancy that point to an early delivery. 33 weeks is almost 2 full months early; it would be very unusual to go into labor at that point. Stay home and rest, let DH go to keep the peace. No harm.

Anonymous wrote:No and at that point, I would be super nervous about DH going alone - I have too many friends who have had perfectly healthy pregnancies and still gone into labor early and had their husbands camped out at airports, desperately trying to get onto flights standby at huge expense, to get back to them (and not all made it back in time).

Skip it and let them know you'll come visit with the baby when its safe and you are ready for everyone to travel.

I find this hard to believe - that you personally know multiple people with healthy pregnancies who have gone into labor at 33 weeks while their husbands are a flight away. That scenario really doesn't happen all that often.

No, but I would be fine sending my husband alone. That said, I have two kids so I am a little laid back about this stuff now.
