LOL, I just found this post through a search because I too have the curse of super stinky gas. It's good to know that I'm not the only one!

Fresh fruit and veggies can actually give you gas. I thought this was common knowledge.

This is true only when you first start eating them in quantity. If you are eating a healthy diet with lots of fruit and veggies your body eventually adjusts and the produce induced farts seem to go away.

Omg, was it one of the really bad lingering ones? Once I let out one of those on a ski gondola thinking that all the heavy ski clothes would keep the stink in. It didn't work. EVERYONE was complaining and I had to play along with it so no one would suspect me.

Bad and lingering, everyone was looking around. My husband gave me the evil eye, he knew it was me. ha ha

My name is Rachel, and I'm a stinky farter. I've also been like this my whole life! Sometimes DH sleeps in the guest room because of it.

OP: It's funny that you mention that because I thought there might be some genetic component to it because my mother can be the same way (although I am worse). How do you deal with letting them out in public?

Pp here: I guess I don't usually have to fart in public. Or I do it and leave the area, or blame it on my husband if he's around.

Perhaps a fecal transplant could fix this, if you were recolonized with a better bacteria ecosystem. Given that initial gut bacteria colonizations come from our parents, no surprise that stinky farts are hereditary.

I'm a vegetarian, so heavy on the fresh produce and beans, and the really bad problematic ones are usually after heavy meals, like when we are travelling and eating out several meals in a row. My regular veggie and bean heavy diet isn't much of a problem, but when I'm eating unhealthy LOOK OUT!!!

Eat a lot of parsley. Make your own tabbouleh salad and use less barley, onions and spices than the recipe normally asks for. You may have to play around a few times to get the right ratio that works for you.
