I think she will be moving in here in October, so that will help, both with finances and food as she will help out with buying food (and cook!). I am hoping to find some work real soon.

Someone mentioned something about seeing if the mortgage company will work with us. They already are but it is coming toward the end of the time frame they can help. They did say if we need more time, we can have it extended 6 more months which is what I plan on doing. The other option I am thinking is asking them if they can do something more long term, like refi the mortgage, home equity and the credit cards. Wondering if in the end it will all be worth it but if the mortgage calculators I am looking at and the interest I am inputting would be what they can offer us, I am coming up with a potential of $700 savings per month compared to what we pay now. Can't hurt to ask.

Do you have any savings at all? Anything you can tap to pay the cards? Can you borrow against a 401(K) or other retirement plan?

Unfortunately no.

Get a roommate! No one likes this suggestion, but a roommate or a boarder is the best way to get quick money in our area. And it's not that uncommon...

OP here. no space for a roommate. Hard to work a second job when I dont have a first job!! I Am listing things on Ebay and craigslist in an attempt to come up with money. I have been able to get most credit cards paid but I have one I KNOW I wont have the money for (and no pp, it is not a $20 minimum payment).

I am paying something on my utilities but have one right now that isnt paid and I really need to pay something on my real estate taxes but cant right now.

Get a job hostessing in a restaurant few nights.Should be enough to cover the minimums and will give you time to find a job day time. They hire at the spot quite often. If you are big strong man-doormen at the club.
