SG doesn't do NCIVF, I asked about it on my first consult and my RE got a bit unraveled.

I live in the UK and saw a lot of ads for Shady grove but I'm interested in NCIVF, do they do that or should I stay in the UK? I saw this from one of the SG ads:

I had an opposite experience! Loved Dr. Levens and my nurse Sandy. The finance staff was in transition when I started treatment this past March/April so things in that area got off to a rocky start. Pregnant after two IUIs with injectibles, 20 weeks.

I third this! Love Widra and Carrie is so on the ball with emails and phone calls. I even emailed once to ask her if it was possible that a big fart messed up implantation during my FET (no lie), and she was super professional and didn't once laugh at my crazy hormonal ass.

I used Dr. Greenhouse (and Kim) with great success. Really worked hard for my husband and I and helped us through a very difficult time. They were very patient with my questions, responsive about calling me back, etc. For example, several times I left Kim voice messages when I knew she was on vacation or out saying "don't worry about calling me back until you return" and another nurse would call me the same day with whatever information I required. I know some posters of late have been unhappy with SG in this area but I (luckily) did not have a problem at all.

I went to the Fair Oaks office and had Greenhouse whom I picked based on recommendations from this site. I did not find him or the nurse to be responsive to anything. We switched to a smaller practice and got pregnant with the first round of IUI.

Have been seeing Dr. O'Brien for a few months and I think she's great. Very knowledgable, references the articles on which she bases her opinions, doesn't dumb things down, etc.

Generally not happy with my nurse but my suggestion would be only trust what comes out of Dr. O'Brien's mouth--the nurse doesn't always make sense or is flat-out wrong. I try to be kind though because I think the nurses are responsible for a lot of patients.

Financial counselors have been OK so far, the best seems to be Nick Dominy but I'm not sure if you get to pick your financial counselor. Ask to meet with a counselor and get their card. You will might have questions and tracking down that person again isn't as straight forward as an internet search.

Shady Grove Fertility might be very helpful for women that have more atypical/unique conditions due to their high volume of patients. That is the boat I'm in, I'm an anomaly. She is right balance of skeptical and realistically optimistic.

All the REs and nurses that I have met are OK, but some financial counselors are terrible...

I concur with a PP that SG Sibley is a good alternative to the bigger offices if it's convenient. It's small, new, and pretty chill.

I was a SG patient at 35.5 (IVF) and now at 37 (FET). Very positive experiences with Dr. Nair (K Street office) and really everyone I worked with. Everyone was very professional. Yes, it's a big practice, but I still felt like I got treated like a person and felt like they were very efficient.

I was a SG patient (35 now, was 34 when we were doing IUI and IVF) and since I had testing done at another clinic relatively recently, they didn't make me repeat the testing in order to determine if I qualified for Shared Risk (which we did). We got incredibly lucky and got pregnant on the first round of IVF, but no regrets! Shared Risk took a lot of the stress and pressure off. My primary RE there was Dr. Osborn and I have nothing but good things to say about her. I also liked Dr. Widra a lot. Good luck!
