DCUM is sort of like this friend I have. She is very negative, arrogant, judgmental. She feels better about her life when she finds out something crappy about another person's life.
When I am around her too much, I find myself becoming increasingly sour and negative. But there's something about all of her pettiness that distracts me from the big issues in my life. I think that is probably why she is so petty -- because superficiality is easier.
But when I realize what's happening, I take a step back. I often need to do that with DCUM.
I think that's what you need to do.
