My favorite sides that are easy to put together are a hummus/Mediterranean platter. You can make it into a dip that is delicious also. Get hummus ( or make your own, even better! ), kalamata olives, marinated artichokes, some good feta, pita chips, carrot sticks and red pepper strips for dipping. Spread on a platter.

Other favorite is an easy artichoke/caramelized onion dip with crackers. Mix one container of diced artichokes with a small tub of cream cheese, 1 cup of mayo and 1 cup of parmesan. Caramalize one medium sized Vidalia onion in a bit of butter/balsamic vinegar and 1 tbs of sugar. Let those cook on low until very soft and brown ( may take an hour ), dice up and mix with the artichoke mixture. Cook in the over on 350 until warm and bubbly. Serve with good bread, crackers or carrot sticks.

Ok, so what are your go-tos if the host says - you can bring a dessert or side/appetizer if you want? Something easy to pull together quickly but still impresses...
