I have seen people put down $2000 for a dinner by a chef or $10 for a shirt. my relatives own an apartment in a very sought after location and we offered it at the auction, getting $1500 that went to the school.
Yeah, this is what I was thinking. $350/kid recommended at Murch, but I'm sure people give at a wide range of levels. I think the HSA raises something like $200k-$250k/year between this and the auction and a few other fundraisers.
Anonymous wrote:Letter we got from Lafayette said $40 for HSA dues and suggested $325 for Bear fund to cover "extras". There is also additional fundraising events throughout the year plus class expenses. So by the time the school year is complete I would guess about $1,000 per kid.

Anonymous wrote:If private school costs 35k a year isn't paying 2k a year for a good school a pretty sweet deal? Yes, I know the JKLM doesn't have fancy facilities, small class size etc. But for a fairly comparable experience it seems like a no-brainier.

Perhaps they get no other fundraisers for the year.
I have pondered this, do they have fewer students than the other schools so need to raise more per pupil to provide equivalent extras?
I think the lion's share goes to pay the salaries of classroom assistants. With 25 kids in a class, 25 * 1.5K = 37.5K. So maybe 30K+ per child to cover classroom costs and 5K+ per child for to cover school-wide costs. Just a guess, though.
Can someone post the Mann PTA budget from last year?
