If a child needs help to get into AAP, it is not a good placement for that child. Kids who need tutors to stay in AAP are better suited for the regular classroom. There's no advantage to being in the AAP classroom unless the child needs to be in that class.

To those who deny there are preppers... see above. Ridiculous.

Yes, then there should be droves of Koreans flunking out of AAP and TJ then because they prepped and now can't handle the school work.

Well, according to another thread in this forum there is rampant cheating at TJ. Perhaps the "preppers" (of all backgrounds) are more highly represented in that population.

Yes, and I'm sure your kids will never or never have prepped for the SAT, LSAT, PSAT, MCAT, GRE, etc.

Hard work is one thing. Gaming the system is what I am talking about. Cheating at TJ is probably a real problem.

sour grapes for those not part of those over represented ethnic groups.

They get tutors to avoid that and that is their business. Do what you think is best for your kid.

My kid is going to take it cold. Scores will mean more then. Of course if you want to pay for tutors all through high school and have your kids struggle....
