In Rockville, check Flower Valley and Manor Woods neighborhoods. I grew up there, but honestly don't know the price of the homes these days. Rockville HS used to rank around #3 in the county, but that was about 15 years ago so you would have to check the latest test scores. There are some neighborhoods that feed into Wooten (sp?) HS that I believe are technically in Rockville or North Potomac. A realtor should be able to guide you.

We live there now - many homes in the 400-500 range. They are nice neighborhoods. It takes me an hour and 15 minutes to commute by metro to Arlington (most days I telecommute). My husband's job is much closer. Our elementary school is great, and neighbors seem pretty happy with the middle school (Woods). I haven't heard any complaints about Rockville HS but don't know much about it.

I live there now. Homes in manor woods generally go for slightly less than flower valley or manor lake. Fv and ML are gong for mid $500,000 to mid $600,000 range at the moment. Homes around manor country club generally go for more.

I just bought a great SFH right near Beall for just under 600k after living in the area for several years. We love it here. I commute every day to Metro Center on metro and it isn't bad at all. I highly recommend it.

Look at GreatSchools.net for info on the schools. Richard Montgomery has been highly rated and offers the magnate programs but doesn't have the reputation of either Wootton or Churchill. If you are willing to accept a smaller home, there are a few SFH in Potomac which would offer you the Churchill Cluster. I was also looking at a few nice split levels that went into Wootton. They don't become available often in your price range. Another area to consider would be Derwood or Olney. Derwood could put you close to the Shady Grove Station. Neither areas rate as highly as other clusters I mentioned but would offer more home for the money. If I may be of assistance, let me know.
