LOL if you think only rich kids play lax, maybe you should step outside the DC bubble. You ever been to one of the hot beds of lax upstate NY. FAR from rich buddy. I grew up and played there. Blue collar kids and maybe that's why so many of these kids are so good. Public school kids who are not rich all over New York play lacrosse and beat the crap out of private schools.

This. Rich people see it as their kid's ticket because there is no competition from anyone but privileged white kids who, let's face it, aren't good athletes in general. In every other sport there is competition from kids from all over the country and various socio-economic backgrounds, not so for lacrosse. It lets rich white kids excel at a sport when they otherwise wouldn't. Hopefully it will spread to poorer schools and areas so those folks can take advantage of the scholarship money and easier admission standards.[/quot

baseball
tennis
swimming

whiter sports with higher barriers to entry than lacrosse

I have to say that for the most part lacrosse players tend to be very good looking. My brother plays in college and his friends (all always lax players) were for the most part really good looking guys. As a rule the families tend to be good looking. Just an observation.

there is very little scholarship money for mens lacrosse. an average of 12 per team v. 85 for football and 15 for hoops. So all the poor non whites still get the better deal.

Not to be trusted dopes who actually believe they will be someone's boss someday based on the fact they played a silly little sport in high school in which most rational people barely know it even exists.
