Md, JMU or George Mason. The reputation is of rich kids from NY and NJ who didn't get into Cornell, but didn't want to go to Rutgers or SUNY-Binghamton.
JHU is a niche school for uptight pre-meds or lacrosse players who don't mind living in an unsafe part of Baltimore.
UNC is a nice flagship state university in a beautiful town, but it is definitely southern (far more so than Duke, which as a private school can enroll more kids from the Mid-Atlantic and other parts of the country).

Where is GW? No campus, just some random buildings downtown and not a single distinctive one.

Even if they were, everyone has different academic abilities, and things they look for in a school.
My dad went to JHU, and majored in poly sci, and loved it---the campus is beautiful, top-notch academics, and Baltimore is significantly improving..

GW undergrad is for spoiled rich kids. I would put UMD well ahead of it.

George Washington
Johns Hopkins
UNC-Chapel Hill
All three are obviously great schools and each offer the program she is looking for. What is your impression of these schools?
