I would rather get a bunch of snicker's bars. fancy chocolates suck. The new place Max Brenners is fun but way overprices $14 for two vanilla popsciles you can dip in chocolate? $8 milk shake...

Too late for OP, but as long as we're making a list...
Range (in Chevy Chase Pavilion) also has excellent chocolates (& very cool packaging) at their candy counter.

Thanks everyone. Went with Nuhaus at Balduccis. They were great. But I'm going to try some of the other suggestions too!
