Obviously, when he shares these things with his parents they get very worried/fretful and then they react in unhelpful ways. If sharing his troubles only serves to worry his parents, it might be much kinder if DH manages what he says to them a little more carefully...

Most likely. OP, I would try to talk to them and let them know in a nice way that you appreciate their concern but not to bring up the job situation in every single conversation. Tell them you find it stressful.
Also, do they know about the loan from your parents? Let them know that you are doing okay financially.
