Thomas always strikes me as classist.

Chuggington. more colors, animated faces, action chugger thomas is creepy.

GAH, my son is allowed to watch one show before bed while we brush our teeth. We are watching fn Chuggington. I feel like choking myself to death on my toothbrush.

Okay, not really, but I do really hate Chuggington, and can't wait until he outgrows it

I hate that Thomas went from stop motion to CGI. I guess I've turned into that old crotchety *You damn kids don't know how good you've got it because when I was your age...* person.

The linked article made me laugh, but I remember babysitting Thomas loving kids when all the engines were male, all the cars were female, and the job of the engines was to lead the "silly" cars around and ignore their "giggling" and "whining" since none of the female characters could talk. It doesn't really surprise me that the show still has a ways to go.

Chuggington with British accents is kind of charming. In American, not so much, and I have always had a hard time sorting out the main characters (Brewster, etc). As for Thomas, the weird slow pace initially creeped me out, and it has the weird undertone of british labor vs capitalism (keep your head down, do what you are told and you will be rewarded). But I have grown to like the chillness of it, very soothing. I'd vote for Thomas at this point but the kids now dig shuggington. Oh well. Give me peppa pig any day.
