I suspect the issue is when you have multiple children. If they have a vacancy in one class - they will put your second child in above the wait listed people, even if you were not on the wait list during the lottery. I don't think it's a conspiracy.

I think that the availability of slots is due to a number of issues, none of them being the quality of the program. Because they only added the elementary grades last year, starting with K, lots of families who had older kids at other schools didn't choose Bridges in order to send smaller siblings to school with older siblings. Also, they were late in finalizing the site for K last year, which made some families who might otherwise have selected Bridges go elsewhere because of the uncertainty of the site.

My daughter has special needs and is thrilled to be going back for 1st grade. That said, most of her K classmates did not have special needs. Their inclusion model allows them to offer more individualized education for ALL students, something all education research says is ideal.

Well, that's very strange, because we did not apply during the lottery and got in two weeks ago without being wait-listed.

I also added my child's name after the lottery, and we're still on the wait list. Or so said the nice person I spoke to on the phone yesterday.

i got an email that there were openings (i didn't do the lottery) and i called to inquire and was told there was a waiting list of 15 kids. i found that odd since the day before when i got the email they said there were spaces--though theoretically i guess it could have filled that fast.
