Eh, I'm not OP, but I don't think we need to read that much into it.

I make nearly 40k by watching another child (in addition to my own). It's a great set-up until we have our 2nd.

I don't care how good your baby is or how well you multi-task, you cannot work at home without childcare. Your baby is going to start demanding more attention as he/she starts to roll, crawl, pull up, cruise, and walk. If you have a babysitter a few hours a week, then a few hours a week is all you are going to be able to work. Your best bet is freelancing or tutoring or something, because no employer is going to be cool with you working from home and also being the caregiver to your baby. And I second that your best bet is to find something through a friend or colleague or something, because it's pretty hard to find an online reputable job through the internet.

I would suggest tutoring since you can market your education background. Your question makes more sense knowing you are willing to pay a babysitter for a few hours.

Just FYI those online MBAs that require no work are pretty worthless.

Freelance something. A real job will require proof that you have childcare during your working hours, as you should.

My husband has no problem with me staying home, he manages the bills. I WANT to work, online school takes up no time for me, I have a good baby, I can multi-task well. Getting him a babysitter for a few hrs a week if needed is not a problem at all. I would like to have a sml income of my own, with re: Communication/research/anything online etc. I used this site to expand my resources. We live in downtown Silver Spring,MD

OP do you want to make money or just to kill time?

Here's a novel idea, sacrifice those 5 years and stay home.

You're a full time mom and getting a degree online and want to get a job. I think you're trying to take on too much. If you really are interested in online work, why don't you start with the school where you're getting your MBA for suggestions?

I'm not sure if it's the sleep deprivation on your part, but you don't sound all that resourceful.

I work full-time from home as a Fed. You can't be sent home right away at my agency--only after 2 years.

Job also requires a hard science degree. I actually took the job with the plans to wAh once I had kids. I did have a nanny come in the home before they started elem school. Childcare is required.

Check out google. My SIL works for them to supplement her income. You can do it from home at nights and during naptimes, but couldn't watch an infant at the same time I don't think.

+1. If you worked at a private K, you can't have made that much money, so even though childcare isn't a major earner, it might work for you.

But there ARE online jobs where you also don't make much money but do have a little income. I had one until my second child was born as a web content writer. Often reputable online jobs depend on a little luck though-- I found this through a friend. And I do have another friend whose job at a call center allowed her to work from 6 p.m. to midnight daily, a job I wouldn't want at all but allowed her to be at home during the day with her baby. It's worth asking around.
