Don't wear eyeliner without mascara!!! It looks odd.

+1 for the Tarte gel blush. Looks so natural and yet makes a big difference.

Occasionally eye liner/shadow for a special event. But, I'm lucky to have good skin, so no foundation/concealer unless I have the random zit.

My absolute MUST-haves:
* Bare Esscentuals concealer for under my eyes and any spots
* Tarte gel stick blush (amazing!!!)
* Sephora eyelash curler
* Maybelline Falsies waterproof mascara

On days I want a little more:
* Clinique eyeliner in violet
* some sort of light-colored eye shadow (currently using MAC "yogurt")

FYI, all you Nars Orgasm lovers- NYX makes a blush (Pinched) that is a near perfect dupe for Orgasm. Costs $6. Orgasm is great because it works for fair AND olive skin tones. I just don't like spending the money on it. The NYX Pinched looks the same- pink, hint of gold shimmer.

This is exactly what I do too, except I don't put on any powder over my liquid foundation. At the ripe old age of 41 I find that powder isn't necessary anymore. I use Murad skin perfecting primer, then urban decay naked liquid foundation (which I apply with the special urban decay brush, ask at ulta and they'll show it to you, it's amazing). The whole thing takes 5 minutes at the most.

light makeup days:
* Maybelline Line Stilleto (waterproof)
* CoverGirl Lash Blast (24 hr or waterproof)
* Burt's Bees tinted lip balm

On days when I have a few more minutes or need more coverage, add the following to the above:
* Monistat anti-chafing gel under the eyes and on/around the nose
* either Bare Minerals powder foundation, bronzer and "mineral veil"
* OR Clinique Almost Makeup (discontinued, but I still have a tube)
* blush
* maybe Clinique eyeliner pencil and eyeshadows.

The anti-chafing gel REALLY helps prevent makeup from settling into the fine lines around my eyes. Learned about it from a Disney board.

I do agree with a PP that taking care of your skin in the first place helps to minimize the need for makeup. So stay well hydrated, eat right and use a lotion that works for your skin, use anti-wrinkle potions, etc.

I do think it is worth it to go to a makeup counter (or Sephora: no commission) to have someone find a good match for foundation and teach you how to best enhance your face. Another advantage of Sephora is that they carry multiple lines so there are more options for matching your skin tone and needs.

For those who wear NARS Orgasm - are you using the powder blush or the multiple (cream stick)?

Cover girl aqua smooth foundation. Been using it for over ten years. People still comment how smooth my skin looks. Bobbi brown bronzer. So worth the extra cost over drug store bronzers. Bobbi brown shadows, also great and last forever. Urban decay eyelid primer. Este Lauder definicils mascara.

Don't forget your Retin A and Latisse...sorry, but it really helps so you don't need as much makeup!!

No brand of foundation will work for everyone. You need to find out what works for you. People come in too many shades for one brand to be universal.

My best techniques...a subtle top eye liner and top mascara. A bit of blush and a tinted lip gloss.

I'm very basic when it comes to make-up-- foundation, powder, blush, mascara, & lipstick. I recently had my eyebrows threaded (after years of doing them myself, thinking I was doing a good job) and bought Benefit's Brow Zings. Best purchase EVER. I swear the whole combo took about 5 years off my face.
