OP here - thanks to everyone for the advice. I've been on many cruises, mostly on Royal Caribbean, which is known for their cleanliness. I would never consider a Carnival cruise which is the line that has been having the majority of the problems recently. I spoke with my OB who said he knows why the cruises usually have that restriction but he has absolutely no problem with my going. He is going to write me a letter stating that.

I would not. If anything were to happen you will have almost no medical care. There is medical care on the ship but they are there to handle stomach bugs and sea sickeness not pregnant women. There is a reason many do not allow anyone on board after 24 weeks. Not to mention all the stuff that has happened on cruise ships lately. I've also known a few people who got very ill on cruise ships. No, thank you.

I did it at 23 weeks (norweigan). It was fun. There were lots of excursions I could still do (most). Second pregnancy and normal so I didn't really think twice about it. I had a note to prove I was 23 weeks because they said you couldn't go past 24 weeks but no one asked for it.

A friend of mine tried to go on a cruise at just over 24 weeks and found out the week before that the cruise line prohibited anyone over 24 weeks from going even with a doctor's note. They would not give her a refund and of course they lost money on other stuff (flight, etc) too. Definitely get in writing from the cruise line that you can go before booking.
