As an FYI on FranklyMLS you can add the word OPEN to see what has an open house.
Also we have a column in the spreadsheet for open houses. A ^ is the symbol for an official open house and a ~ is for "maybe" an open house. Like if the agent puts in the remarks "open sunday" but never puts it in the official Open House section.

Searching is much easier on franklymls I find. I can just type neighborhood, or street, comma, town and up pops a house I was thinking about. I also like the sorting. I can see photos up on frankly a day sooner than on some other sites, like longandfoster, which I use for instant reads on upcoming openhouses (I like the balloon icons). I also like Frank's blog posts. He seems knowledgeable and also cool. But I don't know him. Just has a refreshing perspective.

I can assure you I did not post these posts. An admin person can verify that the IPs are not going to be the same as this one.
As for the comment about homes on FranklyMLS.com that are not on Redfin, I doubt that. We have the same access to the MRIS database feed.

I like being able to see what is pending and what is active. I work with spreadsheets all day and I like the spreadsheet layout and easy sort function.

Also, franklymls has a good link to the tax history of the house, so you can get some idea of why a house sold for $200K in 1999 and $1,000,000 in 2013.

Not a realtor, just a house junkie. I used Franklymls almost exclusively during my housing search - find it very easy to use. I still use it for house-porn/research purposes. I don't think all houses end up on Redfin -some listings never showed up there when they were on franklymls. (and they were still active.) I just don't really like Redfin, for some reason. I feel like people here push Redfin really hard.

I prefer FranklyMLS, and I'm not a realtor. I think their pictures are the largest I've seen compared to the other sites. I also like how you can look at realtors' sales history and track record. If you are a buyer, that's helpful so you can see if the listing agent typically gets 99% of list price or 95%, etc.
