i have an interview tomorrow at a law firm and i am wearing a pant suit with sleeveless blouse.
but if i were wearing a skirt suit (don't have one actually) i would probably suck it up and wear hose. ugh, just the thought, though!!

Look professional. That's all you need. Dress like you're going to church and you'll be fine.

I just interviewed at a firm where the receptionist brought me to a conference room, I stood up to meet the interviewer, then spent the rest of the interview sitting with my legs under the table. It's just weird for the interviewer to be studying your legs at any point in the interview process. I have done many interviews and cannot tell you the hose status of any of the women. I do not wear hose in DC in the summer. They serve absolutely no purpose, except to make me sweat more than I already am in any sort of suit. Don't hire me if that really reflects so poorly on me as a person and employee. Sheesh.

Wear one level above what you can guess the regular attire to be. So if folks are in jeans and t-shirts, then polo shirt + khakis. If folks are in polo shirt + khakis, then wear a shirt and tie. If folks are in shirt and tie, then a wear a suit. Convert that to the female equivalent as needed.
PP who suggested putting hose on/random freshening up at a Starbucks/sandwich shop next to the interview site had a good point.
Yes, if you are interviewing with anyone over 50, you need to wear hose ;-)
Plus usually a skirt suit and heels, depending upon how conservative the profession/firm is involved.

I work in a business casual office. Two years ago during a July heat wave I wore a simple grey knee length skirt, black sleeveless shell and a lightweight black cardigan. No hose; black patent low heel sling backs. I got the job.

Nobody wears hose in 100 degree weather. Even for a job interview.

I'm a hiring manager too and I wouldn't judge you if you didn't wear hose.
