If something is an as-is sale and there are no pictures of the interior posted, it is your own fault if you are disappointed when you visit. The clue phone is ringing: If you aren't up for a full remodel, this is not the house for you.
That's kind of the point I was making. I will never visit a house where there aren't some pictures with the listing because my assumption is that it's a crappy place. I don't understand why people who presumably want to sell their home are okay with people jumping to the conclusion that the interior is a disaster.
But the PP's point that the house may have a tenant also makes a lot of sense, and may explain some of this.
