I have seen one or two beautiful houses that only showed the outside. Maybe they have tasteless neighbors, and they don't care for any run of the mills, or less thans who aren't serious but just low class and nosy to be perusing their house?

Usually it is e knock down, but certainly you can tell from the listing, if you are truly familiar with the area.

I've seen it mostly with places that are currently rentals. Sellers don't want you to not be able to see past the trash & mess tenants may have created. Once they are out the home will show a 100times better!

If something is an as-is sale and there are no pictures of the interior posted, it is your own fault if you are disappointed when you visit. The clue phone is ringing: If you aren't up for a full remodel, this is not the house for you.

That's kind of the point I was making. I will never visit a house where there aren't some pictures with the listing because my assumption is that it's a crappy place. I don't understand why people who presumably want to sell their home are okay with people jumping to the conclusion that the interior is a disaster.

But the PP's point that the house may have a tenant also makes a lot of sense, and may explain some of this.
