Not only that, but does he have to win everything and be the best and whatever he does? It annoys the crap out of me. Could he just once not figure it out or get into trouble for his bad behavior?

Another one of my pet peeves: animals having pets. Mickey Mouse is a mouse that talks and wears pants. However, he owns a dog? That barks and has a collar? Either animals can talk, or they can't. There shouldn't be a hierarchy of which animals can own other animals.

I hate Sesame Street. My child refers to herself as "me" no problem but after watching half a minute of that stupid monster referring to himself in the third person she starts imitating it. ARGH!

Sometimes kids books irritate me. My friend picked up some books for us at a garage sale. One is about two creatures named Smudge and Stripe; my son loves it. One thing that bugs the crap out of me:
Goose's head is down in the water, and the friend says something like "Oh there's Goose, upside down as usual. Hey Goose, turn downside up!" I have to always rephrase it because downside up is the SAME THING AS UPSIDE DOWN!

I was watching Babar on Netflix with DD last week. It drove me nuts that Babar and the other juvenile elephants wear clothes, but the adult elephants walk around naked. Why?

10:00 here again -- the other thing that bugs me on kids cartoons is how they're always wearing the same clothes. How hard would it be to change the color of their shirt from episode to episode?

I entertain myself with an alternate backstory for Max and Ruby -- Ruby is actually a teen mom, and she was kicked out of the house for getting pregnant w/Max. Grandma is sympathetic and helps them pay rent on that house, and everyone pretends that Ruby is Max's "sister."
Oh, and Grandma has a drinking problem or is popping pills or something. Seriously, you can't tell me that woman isn't high as a kite, just listen to her! that episode where they're at the pool -- she's clearly boozing it up.

Oh, and Sofia the First. How did King Roland meet Sofia's mom since she's apparently a formerly poor village woman? Where's the other kids' mom? Where's Sofia's dad?

Bubble Guppies gets so meta sometimes. Everything they do is as if on land, but it's underwater. But sometimes they do water things, like ride in a boat... under water!!

Noodle and Doodle gives me the creeps. I think all the people on Sprout are just weird. Also Nina from the Good Night Show is anorexic and wants children. Ok, obviously I'm showing I am the weird one here

That cheetah song would drive me crazy too! My pet peeve is when they suggest animals that are never found together in nature coexist in the same place. I have no problem with a penguin and polar bear talking and being friends, but let's acknowledge that they actually live thousands of miles apart!
We used to have a book called "Who Lives in the Rainforest" that included a giraffe. Um, no. Giraffes live on dry savannahs. The elephant was questionable as well.
Oh, and there was an episode of Barney the other day, where after visiting the dentist, they sang a song about foods that keep your teeth healthy, including a repeated line about washing it all down with a cup of juice. I'm not a crazy juice parent, but really Barney??? I think that show must sponsored by Welches or something.
