I would vote for Marcels. I hate La Ferme. I live close by and the place is populated with the over 70 crowd. It's bland and boring. I donrely like La Chaumerie but its not fancy.

I still love Nora -- the food is simple and quite good, service attentive but not intrusive and the ambiance is lovely -- quiet, intimate, charming and not ostentatious. Make mine old school.

fine if you want to go to L'Auberge or 1789 and have an awful meal feel free, but if you actually read OP they were using it to distinguish from the latest, hip restaurant, not actually because they want to eat somewhere like Mrs. K's and those 2 restaurants, which are about 20 years old IIRC, fit that bill.

I would rank the three you've listed as: 1) Palena - excellent and inventive; 2) Marcel's - excellent, great sauces; 3) Obelisk - good, didn't wow me.

I have not been to 1789 since the new(er) chef arrived, but I was not impressed with decor or service or food when I was there - I'd definitely rank it below the above three.
