A group of us sell and buy through Dani's Duds (danisduds.com). We've been going to the two sales/year for about 6 years now. I usually make about the same amount of money as I spend so I basically clothe my kids for nothing. You get 50% of the sale price, but the also accept houseware items so I purge the house and by selling that stuff I usually make up the difference in my sales vs purchases.

Like others have said, sell the big stuff on CL. For smaller items, you can do a consignment sale. You generally get 50% of what you sell it for. It does take a big of time to tag all of the items (although some places do it electronically, so it's easier).

I've been selling at consignment sales for the last few seasons and I generally make about $100 per season. I price them pretty low to sell and people are still getting a good deal. Whatever's left gets donated to charity.

I've noticed that it is MUCH harder to sell stuff - even at consignment stores - than it was just a few years ago. I bought a ton of Hanna stuff thinking it would be easy to resell, but not always the case.

But honestly, after reading the thread about growing up poor, I think I'm going to look into better ways to just donate our used stuff directly to people who need it. Sure we could use the cash, but the truth is we are lucky have everything we need, and the extra few bucks aren't going to make a huge difference for us. This is not a guilt trip -- your situation may be different and you may really need the money, and even if you don't, you are not obligated to give it away. It's just something that kind of hit me after reading that thread.
I could have written this. exactly the same situation.

+1 I just donated all my infant items to HOPE in Northern Virginia, which is in falls church (arms reach, bassinet, tub, bouncy chair, clothes- everything). Yes, the cash would've been nice, but knowing that my good quality infant stuff was going to a newborn who needed it felt wonderful. HOPE is my new donation location of choice.

I just sold my BOB Duallie for a fat stack of cash!! Took a few weeks, but it almost pays for the dollhouse bunk beds we just bought for my DDs.
