I realize this is an old thread, but here I am anyway.
I see couples of all ages holding hands. I think it's sweet.
On a sad note, a lesbian friend was assulted- slammed hard enough in the back of the head to send her to the hospital - on the Metro, for holding hands with her wife. Note- I live in Seattle, the most gay friendly place I've known. There is still so much hatred.

My boyfriend is 34 and likes to hold my hand. He does it at home, at bars, while we walk. I can't stand it. He looks hurt when I pull my hand away, so I try to give in, but I really dislike it. I don't notice many people holding hands anymore, much less gay couples.

You definitely just notice it more when it is a homosexual couple. Every hetero couple I see is holding hands at all ages. Less gay couples are. And as pointed out previously, there is a risk of violence to worry about for gay couples. Also just being seen by someone at work who is a homophobe and might affect decisions there.

I wonder if maybe you just notice it more when gay people are holding hands.

I notice it a fair amount in the area, and it makes me smile. I'm glad people are comfortable enough here to show their love publicly.

Whenever DH and I are alone, we hold hands while we are walking or watching a movie. It's nice to know after all the years we've been married that we still feel that way about each other.
