Oh, relax. I'm sure I'm living my life in ways that are considered a nightmare to others (Ex: I was a teen Mom). The argument has validity, whether you're comfortable with it or not.

Agree with second PP. DH was 40 when DC was born and FIL died at age 54. DH is concerned about this possibility, why wouldn't someone 16 years older be? Also odd that first PP jumps to jealousy. Pregnant is the last thing I want to be in my 50s! Well, dead is really the last thing, but pregnant is next after that.

My great-grandmother was 57 (probably).

This happened to my aunt's (by marriage) grandmother. She got pregnant at 55 (by her 72 year old husband). She lived to 92 and her husband lived until 96. Baby was healthy and conceived naturally (it was quite a surprise). They already had 5 kids (oldest was in the 30's).

No way this is true. If it is - what doctor?

How rare is this? I conceived kids quickly and naturally in my mid-forties, but by my fifties I was totally menopausal. Are you sure it's a baby, OP? Did you see a real doctor?

No, I didn't "reverse menopause". Thought that is what was happening when I was 6 weeks late.

-Yes, conceived naturally. (No medical intervention)
-My DH is the father, he is 55
-I have 3 other kids aged, 12,19,22

I have a friend and this really did happen to her aunt....surprise and ONLY pregnancy at age 56...after years of infertility...
