It's hard to tell since she's always leaning on her cane. If we stretched her out maybe she's taller but as it stands she's shorter than I am at 5ft2.

how old is he? Boys keep often keep growing until 19 or 20.

My mom is 5"0 my dad is 6"2, I am 5"2 (female) my brother is 5"3. So my brother is taller than my mom, but almost a foot shorter than my dad. There is no dominance or recessives when it comes to genes that code for height, so it can always go either way, especially in "mixed" height marriages. BTW there are literally hundreds of genes that influence height and there are even more variants of those genes.

Interesting, but this means nothing until they are both adults. My brothers are 6'3" and they were always the smallest at school, until they shot up at around 16. Your nephew may well end up taller than your son.

There is regression to the mean, so a tall mother might have a shorter son. There is a formula that pediatricians use to guess adult height, and it does vary by gender.
I think with boys it's the average of father's height and mother's height plus 2 inches and with girls it's the average of mother's height and father's height minus 2 inches.
So two 6 feet parents would be projected to have a 6'1" son and a 5'11" daughter.

NP here. I'm curious what your son's height is now...and if you can remember, what it was at 3. You and your husband share the exact same stats as my husband and I do. So far, my 3 year old (who is tall, but not off the charts tall- 95th percentile) is supposed to be 6'2" at 18. DH's dad was a big 6'2" and while his brothers are shorter than my husband, they make enormous sons.
