How much money are we talking about? At our pool it is $10 for a pack of 4 guest passes. I can't imagine making an issue out of it.

I pay, and even if you ask I won't let you pay me back.

On other hand, I have been invited to pool clubs by others and as part of the invite they told me how much guests cost. I was glad to pay/reimburse friend in those situations.

So I think it can go both ways but when I'm hosting I'm always going to pay.

If you invited me and I accepted, I would arrive prepared to pay. But, when you invited me, I'd probably promptly ask you, "How much does it cost?"
