I hope so! We're about to put our DC house on the market in about a week or two.

This is my though, there are at least 30% of buyers out there want to buy because the rate was so low. But since the rate went up so much (even though is still low) and every good house list on the market, there's a bidding war, so that 30% of buyers will back out.

And maybe 15% of buyers have to lower their price range or simple not qualifying for the loan, so they are forced to back out.

And the rest including myself, I have a place to stay, if the price is good and interest rates are ok, I will buy it.

Screw it if it went up 6 or 7% ain't nobody gonna buy sh!t

I think 700k is a VERY common price range in this area, that's why those homes fly off the market. Really anything 600-800k in decent shape, GONE.

Tried that commute sucked , moved to west falls church for the win

I simply will not live in a shoe box smelly old home - all of the N. Arlington homes are like that. We decided to look further out in Annandale - Woodson school district. Some great homes, all under 700. Got beat out in bidding war in two homes this weekend, but will try again with one coming on the market this coming weekend. A little further drive, but can take the pentagon bus or HOV into work.

Same here. We had a rate lock at the lower rates but there was nothing out there we liked. Oh well. Looks like we'll stay at our rental a little longer and save save save!

We are looking but aren't willing to settle so we haven't made any offers or seen anything we want to make an offer on. I'm honestly not that concerned about rates rising, what I'm really concerned about it housing dropping after we buy for a variety of reasons. Also we are around 1-1.2 million and I'd rather save more or wait for new construction based on what I see at that price point in the area we like.
