Met yesterday with the person recruiting me. For me I feel I would need to work onsite 3 days per week, stay overnight twice a week then work from home 2 days. They would cover my weekly hotel or rental.

Leaning toward taking it. Am I nuts?

I don't think you're nuts. The other thing that hasn't been discussed is the nature of the proposed commute. 75 miles at highway speed is not the same thing as a 90 minute DC-area commute, with all its uncertainty and frustration. I could do the former but suicide is preferable to the latter.

What do your husband and kids think about being gone 2 nights a week just because?

If there are no husband/kids, then move.

Why can't you move closer to work? Rent your current place if you own and lease a new one?

God that sounds awful. But Im trying to leave my job in part because of a long commute so maybe I'm biased.

If you think this job has long-term potential, could you move closer to the job? Especially if you are the primary breadwinner and/or if your husband's work is more mobile...

PP here. I would not do that. You'll. hate it. If you could do 2 days onsite and one night away then that seems doable to me.
